“Space Jam: A New Legacy” Convinces Kyrie Irving Life Is Just A Cartoon

Evidence is evidence.

NEW YORK - Brooklyn Nets star point guard Kyrie Irving is now “100% convinced” the world is just an animated cartoon after seeing an early premiere of “Space Jam: A New Legacy” earlier this week.Irving took in the film, which features his former teammate LeBron James, at a special screening for friends and family Thursday and came away “shook.”“What I’ve been taught all my life is that the Earth is real, that we as human beings live and breath and eventually, die,” Irving said when asked about his thoughts on the film. “Now I know how looney that concept really is.”The news comes on the eve of the movie’s worldwide premiere, a follow-up to the original 1996 film that featured NBA Hall of Famer Michael Jordan and famed Looney Tune characters Bugs Bunny, Lola, Tweety, and Tasmanian Devil.“If you really think about it, and taking into account the now clear evidence that cartoon animals and artificial replicas of Don Cheadle are out there in the universe with real people like Lebron, I refuse to believe that falsehood anymore,” he added. The Nets’ point guard is no stranger to conspiracy theories, as Irving has long been a vocal proponent of ideas like thinking the earth is flat.He later backtracked on that theory, apologizing after being confronted by educators on the matter.Despite the prior backtracking, Irving seems pretty convinced of his recent revolution that everything is just a “Looney Tune.”“Lola Bunny, Taz, Road Runner, they’re all as real as you and I,” Irving said to reporters outside the theater. “Educate yourselves, please. We have been lied to all along.”Space Jam: A New Legacy premieres worldwide only in theaters and HBO Max on Friday.
