Report: Older Brother Taking July Fourth Family Wiffleball Game “Way Too Seriously”

DES MOINES - High school senior and older brother Charlie Fairchild is reportedly taking his family’s annual Independence Day wiffleball game “way too seriously.”

Sources tell EOTB that Fairchild, who has been accepted to Iowa State in the fall, has pegged both of his younger siblings in the face and ran through his mother’s backyard garden to catch pop-ups “several times.”

“It’s a bloodbath out there. This may be the final crack in the family’s foundation,” the source said on condition of anonymity. “I can’t imagine his parents will want him to come home next summer.”

Fairchild has a history of allegations of being “too intense” at family sporting events, as recently as the Fairchild’s annual Thanksgiving family football game in 2020.

“Boys will be boys, but he almost killed his uncle Gary,” his mother, Barbara Fairchild, said after the incident.

Despite the holiday weekend celebrations, the source tells EOTB a formal grounding is “imminent.”

“Oh yeah there’s no way he’s going out tonight. He murdered his mother’s rose garden by the third inning.”

The Fairchilds could not be reached for comment at the time of publication.
